In the build-up to the Crystal Palace game, many were excitedly interested in seeing Marcus Rashford deliver another match-winning performance as he did over the weekend during the  Manchester derby. Rashford scored the winner to complete Manchester United's comeback in the game.

It was his eighth goal since the club season resumed after the completion of the World Cup in Qatar. Rashford participated in that as well with the England national team scoring three goals before they got knocked out of the competition in the latter stages.

Ronaldo expresses concern about Rashford's intentions

The 26-year-old striker has grown to become Manchester United's new team leader since breaking onto the scene during Louis Van Gaal's era at the club. The once-academy product is now championing Manchester United into a new era under Erik Ten Hag.

Rashford survived the competition for a more important role against his now-former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo and has justified his backing with goals and top performances this season. His goalscoring rise in recent matches had now put him level on terms with Ronaldo for a record he hoped to break.

What happened with Rashford's challenge?

The England International was hoped to score in his eighth consecutive game for the Red Devils in order to surpass his current record of several which he shares with Ronaldo. Sadly, Rashford couldn't get on the scoresheet as United drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace. Rashford will be wary of faxing Arsenal's nightmare defense which has been one of the best in the league.
