Manchester United crashed out of the Europa League after losing 5-2 on aggregate to La Liga side Sevilla, and the Reds fell 3-0 in the second leg on Thursday night. Ten Hag, understandably, was thunder-faced after Sevilla took the lead in the clash. The Reds did not start the game well, going behind after Maguire was picked off on the edge of his own penalty area.

Erik ten Hag's men arrived at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium after drawing 2-2 in the first leg of the quarterfinals played at Old Trafford last week. The Reds had a 2-0 lead and cruised into the match, but own goals from Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire kept the Spaniards level.

Maguire was at fault for Sevilla's opening goal of the second leg on Thursday, with the England international fumbled on the edge of his own penalty area. Things went from bad to worse for the Reds, as the hosts scored two more goals to secure a 3-0 win on Sevilla's night.

Alex Telles, who will spend the season on loan at Sevilla from United, received a warm hug from Ten Hag before kick-off on Thursday night. United midfielder Fred - who came on in the second half of the game - also stopped to speak to his compatriot, who started the game on the bench.

A comeback may be the possible solution

The Brazilian full-back has made 50 appearances for the Reds but it seems likely that he will leave Old Trafford in the summer transfer window. He has made 20 appearances for Sevilla in La Liga this season, but only 10 of those have come as a starter.
