Felix Zwayer will whistle the UEFA Europa League knockout match.

The German referee was sanctioned in 2005 for rigging in the Bundesliga 2. This same season, Liverpool vs. Real Madrid whistled in the Champions League. Referee of good memory for the Andalusians, Sevilla thrashed 4-0 in the only precedent in Europe

We already know the referee who will whistle this coming Thursday the duel between Manchester United-Sevilla. Appointment for which the German Felix Zawyer has been appointed. This 41-year-old real estate agent has been in the Bundesliga since 2008 and has been international since January 2012.

The German referee's career was marked in 2005 when he was disabled for six months. Then the referee Hoyzer was sentenced to two years and five months in prison for fixing more than ten matches in the Bundesliga 2 and the German third division. Assistant Marks was sentenced to 18 months in prison. Zwayer was an assistant in one of the matches they fixed.

It is his first meeting in the current Europa League. If he has whistled four games in the Champions League, the last one was in the first leg of Liverpool-Real Madrid that ended with a 2-5 victory for the Whites.

What is your background with Manchester United?

It will be the fourth time that he whistles for United in Europe. So far the balance in the previous three is two wins and one draw. The English do not know defeat with the Bavarian. Curiously, the last precedent was at Old Trafford in the 2-1 victory over Villarreal in the group stage last season. There is only one precedent with Sevilla in the 2016-2017 Champions League where they thrashed Dinamo Zagreb 4-0.
