Manchester United club legend Rio Ferdinand has revealed his admiration of the quality performance of one of the United star currently representing England at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar following the Three Lions' emphatic 6-2 win over Iran on Monday.

Ferdinand who followed the England-Iran game very closely shared his thoughts during the post-match analysis and highlighted a few key players that standout for him in the win, which included a United player alongside the Man of the Match, Bukayo Saka of Arsenal.

They blame him for everything, Ronaldo has had enough

Ferdinand couldn't resist describing how phenomenal Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire was in the game for England despite his limited game time at the club level under Erik Ten Hag. Maguire was joined by fellow United teammate, Luke Shaw in the starting eleven, and both provided the assist for England's first two goals on the day.

Maguire has been subjected to bench duties this season as Erik Ten Hag opts for a Lisandro-Varane pairing. Ferdinand highlighted how well Maguire dominated the box in the opposition half to set up Saka's goal, adding that he looks very comfortable whenever he plays for England.

WHAT IS GOING IN WITH MAGUIRE AT UNITED?

With limited playing chances this season despite the injuries to the backline in recent weeks, Maguire has remained puzzled by Ten Hag's choices. The Englishman has been fit and available for the most of the season so far, but he remains an unlikely part of Ten Hag's plan at United. According to reports, United are ready to let him go with the like of his former club Leicester City ready to snatch him up if he's made available in the coming transfer window.
