Manchester United fans are still brooding over the exit of one of the Greatest Of All Time from the club after an official press release by the club and Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed their agreed mutual termination of his contract.

The situation started with a chain of actions and reactions from the club and some of its members towards Ronaldo which also included the action of the new team manager Erik Ten Hag and eventually led to the explosive media interview by Ronaldo.

Ronaldo made several remarks and accusations against the club owners, and the management, and very direct criticism of Erik Ten Hag, which did not go down well with some of the fans. The incident was eventually addressed by the club with the decision to let him leave.

While all of this happen, Ronaldo seemed unbothered as many believed he had foreseen all possible outcomes to his interview before he did it and has just focused entirely on his World Cup campaign with Portugal.

The 37-year-old hasn't started any new club discussions despite his links to several teams including Chelsea. There is interest from Saudi Arabia with a reported 225 million euros contract offer on the table for Ronaldo. So far he has refused to speak any further about his club situation, as he wants to focus on helping Portugal get as far as possible at the World Cup.
