Ronaldo made several remarks and accusations against the club owners, and the management, and very direct criticism of Erik Ten Hag, which did not go down well with some of the fans. The incident was eventually addressed by the club with the decision to let him leave.
While all of this happen, Ronaldo seemed unbothered as many believed he had foreseen all possible outcomes to his interview before he did it and has just focused entirely on his World Cup campaign with Portugal.
The 37-year-old hasn't started any new club discussions despite his links to several teams including Chelsea. There is interest from Saudi Arabia with a reported 225 million euros contract offer on the table for Ronaldo. So far he has refused to speak any further about his club situation, as he wants to focus on helping Portugal get as far as possible at the World Cup.
