Manchester United started their season with Cristiano Ronaldo on their books but five months into the season the club legend is now a free agent and can move to any club he wants while United scrambles to find his replacement.

The Portuguese international returned to the Premier League last season after completing his move from Juventus and went on to scoop up United's player of the season award with over 20 goals scored across all competitions.

This season he found himself on the peripheral list of the new club manager Erik Ten Hag despite the claims in the media that he was a key part of the project. The lack of game time frustration built up to a misconduct that saw Ronaldo get suspended.

Things finally broke off when the Portuguese conducted a media interview that put Manchester United in turmoil for weeks and his contract was subsequently terminated by mutual agreement and made him a free agent once again.

WILL RONALDO READY GET TO REJOIN REAL MADRID?

According to the latest reports, the former Manchester United player is quite interested to rejoin Los Blancos on a short-term basis till June with a minimal salary. But Real Madrid despite their appreciation of Ronaldo is not convinced he would be okay with a squad role and has hence ruled out the deal.
