In the many ways that Manchester United thought the season who go, almost no one would've thought that they'll be losing one of the greatest footballers of all time just five months into their new season under the highly-rated new manager.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been not just an important figure on the field of play for everything he has played for but also a huge commercial boost to their finances and club value, which is something that Manchester United had been relishing during his time at the club.

Erik Ten Hag's arrival spelled a different bond for almost everyone at the club, as some players were expected to thrive under his managerial prowess while others would be moved on to all uniformity within the new squad.

Ronaldo's relationship with the new manager was rather rocky according to his claims in his media interview and eventually saw him exit the club just months into Ten Hag's era at Manchester. His club's future is currently on hold at the moment while he focuses on his World Cup goals.

WHO REPLACED RONALDO AND WHERE?

Ronaldo has been a key starter in his national team side and even led them out on their campaign opener in Qatar but had to first watch from the bench in Portugal's round-of-16 game against Switzerland as his 21-year-old replacement, Goncalo Ramos bagged a hattrick in Portugal's 6-1 win.  The youngster whose idol happen to be Ronaldo was terrific on the night, much to his national team captain's expectations.
