Manchester United continued their routine win last night with a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford. It was the second leg tie for the Carabao Cup semifinal, which saw Manchester United get through to the finale with a total score line of 5-0 from both legs.

While the victory was important and crucial for Erik Ten Hag and his backroom staff, the Red Devils fans were captivated by the actual return of Jadon Sancho to first-team football last night. The winger last played for United back in October before his long time out.

In the build-up, to the game, Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag announced his return of Sancho and hinted that he could have s cameo in last night's game. The entirety of Old Trafford was ecstatic to see the star player back on the pitch when he came on to replace Antony.

Sancho was all smiles on the touchline as he shared a brief conversation with a happy-looking Erik Ten Hag. Shortly after coming on Manchester United scored their first goal of the night though Martial and Fred extended it shortly after. Sancho had a decent cameo and will be gearing up to get back into the starting lineup.

What Sancho's action triggered fans?

At the blast of the final whistle, Old Trafford was loud with cheers as they secured their first final in a long time. Sancho was seen making a round trip across the Old Trafford stands to applaud United fans after the game. His gesture triggered an uproar of admiration and support from the fans as they showered with much appreciation. Sancho will be looking forward to the next game against Crystal Palace on Saturday to mark his Premier League return.
