Since Erik ten hag took over Manchester United in the summer, we all saw a revolution coming. Just before he signed his contract, there were rumors he had already thought of some big changes in the squad. The first would be the most controversial, transferring out Cristiano Ronaldo.

Then, his wish list came along and the big spending began. He wanted great players to change both the defense and midfield. He got Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro and Eriksen to the team. But those names seem to be the beginning of his version of the Red Devils. During the whole summer, there was a huge drama involving a Barcelona player.

Erik ten Hag already had an accepted offer from Barcelona to transfer Frenkie de Jong to Old Trafford. The piece was supposedly about 60 million pounds but the deal fell off due because of the Holland player. He didn’t want to leave Spain, and it’s been said that he gave up a portion of his salary just to remain at Camp Nou.

The alternative rises

Savic has been an important player for Lazio since he joined them back in 2015 the Slovenian midfielder so far has played 240 games and has given 48 assists to the Italian. And he emerged as a possible transfer alternative to Frenkie de Jong. The only catch was that in the summer the Italian Team would only let him go for 80 million pounds. But recent reports said Lazio would be willing to cut his price in half just to get something in return for the player since his contract expires in 2024
