A late brace from Manchester United player Scott McTominay helped Scotland secure a 3-0 European Championship qualifying victory over 10-man Cyprus at Hampden Park.
Despite coming on in the 67th minute in place of Stuart Armstrong, the Manchester United midfielder had a direct impact on the outcome of the match, as he scored the team's last two goals in Glasgow.
After John McGinn's 1-0 run, which went down before the first half hour of play, Scotland struggled to convert again, but the story took a different turn late in the game.
In the 87th minute, McTominay took advantage of an awkward header from Lyndon Dykes to dominate the ball at the goal of the six-yard box and extend his team's lead. And, with only seconds remaining to close, Scott made it 3-0 after connecting a strong right hand to the goalkeeper's left post.
A separate paragraph for Casemiro and Alex Telles, who started in Tangier, where Brazil lost 2-1 to Morocco in a friendly prior to the restart of the Premier League. On this occasion, Antony entered after 64 minutes, while Fred was not called up.
