With five league games won in a  row, including the glorious Manchester derby comeback win at Old Trafford, the Red Devils were in the best of form to face out-of-form Crystal Palace. A perfect opportunity for the United to pick up three less stressful points with their radiant attack.

Erik Ten Hag also made the well-predicted change to his lead attacker for the game, dropping the slightly injured Anthony Martial for his new signing Wout Weghorst to mark his return to the Premier after Burnley's relegation last season. He was flanked by Marcus Rashford and Antony Santos with Bruno Fernandes playing behind.

But Wout failed to score and was largely ineffective in the game much to fans' surprise after waiting excitedly to see him make his debut for the club. United had to settle for a draw following a late equalizer by Palace to cancel out Bruno Fernandes's first-half goal.

Wout Weghorst had another start against Arsenal in Manchester United's recent 3-2 defeat and yet again failed to make an impact in his second game. His defensive contribution was well appreciated but there was a cloud of questions about his attacking ability as he failed to test the Arsenal goalie.

How did Wout react to fans' criticism?

Following his poor performances, Wout has been on the receiving end of criticism from Manchester United fans. The 30-year-old striker recently reacted to fans' outpour by addressing the situation. Wout said that he had always scored goals in his career and he's confident that he can do it at United as well despite not scoring in his last two starts. He added that he will only worry if he starts missing big chances.
