Sir Alex Ferguson praises Ten Hag's first year at United, here's what he had to say

Manchester United have had a very difficult time since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, as the club has not been able to win major titles for the last ten years, this has made the fans feel unhappy with the situation, as we were all waiting for a complete change in the team that would allow them to return to the top of Europe. 

Ferguson's time with the Red Devils was very long and very prolific, so after he retired the club began to bring in experienced coaches, with the idea of continuing the legacy of the English coach, however, that was not possible due to the failures and few processes that the board delivered year after year, it was not until the end of the 2022 season in which United decided to hire Erik Ten Hag. 

Since the arrival of the Dutch coach, his project and vision for the team began to be glimpsed, although it had a very weak start during last season, the Red Devils were able to finish in third place, which allowed them to enter directly into the Champions League, that undoubtedly made them start to have new illusions for the team. 

Similarly, in this period of time Ten Hag has made several moves in the squad that have allowed him to have an improvement in performance, but he has also made questionable decisions that other coaches in the past would not have made, such as having let go two legends of the club last season such as Cristiano Ronaldo and David de Gea, as the Dutchman has been clear that to succeed United needed a complete renovation.

Despite his retirement and some health problems, Ferguson is still keeping a close eye on Manchester United, as during an interview with NBC he said he is happy with the decisions Ten Hag has made during his first year in charge of the team, as he believes the moves he has made can help the club to win titles very soon, so the English coach concluded by saying: "I think Ten Hag has done a fantastic job. He's got hold of it, he's brought in his own players and if he gets the centre-forward set up quickly, I think they'll be a very good side."
