Manchester United is currently on six weeks enforced break following the ongoing World Cup campaign that is taking place in Qatar. The break offers players, backroom staff, the board, and even the fans the opportunity to focus on other situations at the club.

Ten Hag shift his focus to his players on the sidelines, as he assesses his possible options for league resumption in December. The Dutch manager was upset and sad weeks ago when his star player was forced off during one of their key games of the season.

He watched in disbelief as Raphael Varane was subsequently subbed off following an injury in their tight contest at Stamford Bridge. The injury was a tough one to take for him and his backroom staff to take as they shuffled options to fill his spot.

Varane was ruled out for almost 5 weeks, which meant he missed the rest of United's games before the World Cup as he sort to get fit in time to join the French squad. His return coincided with when France made their World Cup call-ups.

HOW IS VARANE DOING AT THE MOMENT?

The Frenchman did return in time for France's opening game against Australia but he was unused after Didier Deschamps opted to not risk his recovery. However, he started their next game against Denmark, where he marshaled the defense for a long time to the delight of everyone including his club manager and United fans. He is expected to start their final group game for more match fitness.
