To everyone's surprise, the coach realised that several youngsters were able to show that they were ready for the next level, Kobbie Mainoo and Facundo Pellistri were the ones chosen to receive even more playing time, as their performance had helped the team to get wins and look good on the pitch.

However, both players look set to miss the start of the new season, Mainoo due to an ankle injury and Pellistri because Ten Hag is still unsure of his future, although he scored the last goal of the pre-season, the club is still undecided whether to send him out on loan with the intention of gaining more experience or renew the Uruguayan.

The young striker spoke openly about his future at United, as he is well aware that he does not yet have a secure place in the squad, and in an interview Pellistri said: "Both scenarios are good. If I'm on loan, it's to get more minutes and come back stronger. And if I stay, to play all the time, I can contribute, so we'll see what happens, but for now I'm enjoying this moment." In addition to that if Ten Hag decides to keep the player, he would change his position from right winger to midfielder, so the Uruguayan would have to adapt to the changes that may come in his career.
