Manchester United have been solving one crisis after another in recent weeks while all their on-field activities as temporarily non-existent until league football returns in December after the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup is concluded.

Erik Ten Hag realized quickly when he joined the club that there were lapses in the setup he inherited from last season. The Dutchman got to work immediately by helping United identify the areas in the team that required immediate attention.

The defense was improved on with the signing of Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia. The midfield was where the major improvement was made with the signing of Christian Eriksen as a free agent and Casemiro from Real Madrid.

The attack saw the least changes with only the addition of Antony Santos from Ajax for a world record fee, which received heavy scrutiny from the fans and media on the amount spent to sign. But Ronaldo's mid-season exit has now completely changed United's transfer plans.

Manchester United and Erik Ten Hag are reportedly going to discuss at length before they decide on a target but their fresh update suggests that the club is very much interested in a less financially demanding resolution as they can sign former player Memphis Depay for around four million euros compared to their targets under consideration.
