Manchester United began their season restart with a smooth-sailing victory against Championship side Burnley in the latest round of the EFL Cup after almost six weeks of zero club football due to the recently concluded 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Old Trafford stands were very energetic in letting their stars know that they were there to cheer them on to continue the fine club form from the first half of the season. It was a delightful sight for all as Manchester United dominated proceedings.

The Red Devils took the lead in the first courtesy of Christian Eriksen after a well-laid assist by Aaron Wan-Bissaka after a very dominant first half. The lead was doubled early on in the second half via Marcus Rashford, who continued his scoring exploits in this campaign.

United missed a couple of chances as well to further extend their lead but was very much in control of the game through ninety minutes as  Erik Ten Hag and his backroom staff watched from the sidelines while assessing their players' fitness.

WHAT WAS TEN HAG'S REACTION?

Manchester United's manager was all smiles after at the final whistle as the team booked their sport in the quarter-final round of the EFL Cup. According to reports, Ten Hag was very impressed with his team's performance, especially after some of his players' recent experience at the just concluded World Cup tournament. He is now focused on their next game against Nottingham Forest in the EPL.
