Since the start of the season, Manchester United has struggled in front of goal as their attackers miss fire every opportunity that the team creates. This has seen them narrow edge out some of their opposition at full-time with a slender lead.
The goalscoring exploits are the lowest amongst the current top six teams on the league table as they have scored the same number of goals as they've conceded. They've only managed to score 20 times this season much to their misfiring forwards.

Ronaldo's exit from the club has further created a gap in the blunt attack and Ten Hag has quickly identified his solution to their problems in fellow countryman, Cody Gakpo. The 23-year-old club captain has been a standout performer in the first half of the season.
Gakpo has over 30 goal contributions already this season across all competitions. United opted against signing him in the summer when they spent almost 100 million euros for Ajax's Antony Santos who majorly plays on the right wing.
Gakpo started as a winger but is also well accustomed to the role of a striker and has led PSV Eindhoven as a striker several times. He's reported ready to leave PSV but only for the right move, which was why he turned down offers that came in the summer from clubs around Europe. The Dutchman is currently on the Netherlands' team competing at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar and has already scored once so far in the campaign.
