Manchester United board might have backed Erik Ten Hag since he joined the club in the summer, but they recently pulled back from him over an agreed plan that left him stranded as he scrambled to make the most of the club's costly actions towards him.

The 52-year-old Dutch manager has put in a lot of work since joining the club in the summer from Ajax. The players are gradually becoming more apt with the football philosophy and coaching demands he expects from them in every game as well as the team rules.
