The goalkeeper position is one that the club has been looking to reinfornce for the past few seasons, and that is due to the reason that De Gea seems to be unable to keep making mistakes that cost the team games, and his replacement seems to be closer with a player that ten Hag has already managed.

André Onana from Inter Milan seems to be the answer that the red devils are looking for, a player that has matured a lot in the past few seasons being the starting goalkeeper for Inter in the domestic league and in the european competitions, and now seems to be ready to take on another challenge.

Despite having issues with ten Hag in the past both of them have changed a lot from that time and with the necessity to find a new goalkeeper he might be the best solution, taking into consideration that his club has already put a $50 million euros price tag on him and are willing to negotiate.

David De Gea is already at 32 years old and at the moment he continues to make a lot of mistakes that sometimes they cost only a goal but sometimes it costs games and points in the league, so in order to put pressure on him or to replace him Onana puts himself really close in the race to take over the Manchester United goal.

¿How are the options looking for the club?

Right now the contract of De Gea expires in June of 2023, with a 12 month extension that the club can activate at any moment, on the other hand Onana is worht 50 million euros and Inter Milan are willing to negotiate with any team that wants to pay something around that price, at the moment those are the options that they are working with at the club, probably at the end of the season ten Hag will have to decide what options he wants to take.
