Although we have seen some movement on the left-side of defense with Alex Telles moving to Sevilla for a season loan deal, and the signing of Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord, we cannot say the same of the opposite side of the pitch. At the moment, Diogo Dalot, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Ethan Laird are the options that Erik ten Hag has at his disposal.
This past week there have been talks between Manchester United and Watford about a possible loan deal for this season. The player is still very young and the club counts with him for the future as they believe he could be a starter in future years. In spite of this, they also know he needs to play more regularly, so a loan could only be beneficial for everyone.
Former Manchester City star is on Manchester United’s radar
This Manchester United youngster may be on his way out this summer
It has been reported by The Athletic’s, Laurie Whitwell that a club asked for Diogo Dalot earlier in the summer. To what United answered that they would only be interested to sell Wan-Bissaka, as Dalot is more of the linking of Erik ten Hag. The English right-back has been linked with a move back to Crystal Palace, but their manager, Patrick Vieira, would not talk about other clubs’ players.
By the looks of it, Diogo Dalot will play over Aaron Wan-Bissaka this season after the Portuguese full-back left a better impression on Erik ten Hag during pre-season. However, it has been reported that the Dutch manager would be interested in bringing his former Ajax player, Sergiño Dest.
