One of the standout players was Marcus Rashford who has been playing at his best since Ten Hag blocked off his exit in the summer and made him champion the attack. He has been a revelation for Ten Hag and has continued that form in Qatar with England.

Rashford opened his campaign in Qatar with England's fifth goal as they won 6-2 against Iran after coming on as a second-half substitute. He had another brief cameo against the USA in game two but couldn't impact the game as he had hoped. Rashford was then selected to start the final game against Wales.

WHAT WAS HIS PERFORMANCE LIKE AGAINST WALES?

Rashford wasted no time in showcasing his quality as he opened the scoring for England with a beautiful freekick and score another much later in the game. His braces earned him the MOTNM award and also the admiration of his coach Gareth Southgate, who stated that Rashford has improved drastically to become a much better player. He added that he is a much happy player now after he had worked on improving himself following some advice he got from Southgate in the summer.
