Towards the end of last season, many Manchester United fans wanted the Board to sell one of their best talents in the team and Europe over his poor run of form that saw United miss out on the Champions League. The summer came by fast and things took a shape for the future at United as they signed Erik Ten Hag as their new manager.

His first and most decisive decision was to back the out-of-form player to remain calm and level-headed despite the anguish caused to him by fans over his performance last season. Ten Hag succeeded in convincing Marcus Rashford about the talents and value he adds to the current team with a promise to help him get back to top form.

These United stars make England team for crucial tournaments

Despite PSG's rumored interest, United boldly stated their desire to keep hold of the 25 years old forward, who has been the heartbeat of Erik Ten Hag's success story so far this season. Since the season started Marcus Rashford has been United's most consistent player, while scoring freely in their scintillating wave of attack during matches.

So far the English man has seven goals and three assists in 15 appearances this season, with goals against Arsenal and Liverpool, who are two of United's top-four rivals. Rashford now plays with more decisiveness in front of goal with 30 shots on goal and 11 shots on target so far in the Premier League this season.

HOW DID TEN HAG REBORN THE WANTAWAY STRIKER?

In his earlier press conference after signing for Manchester United, Erik Ten Hag firmly declared his desire to help develop the exciting talents in his squad to their best potential. He backed this statement up by repeatedly giving the likes of Rashford more freedom to play and encouraged him by giving him more playing time as the top striker ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.
