With the tournament down to the finale, this Manchester United star is eyeing football immortality.

As Manchester United fans count down to league resumption in a few days, their attention remains drawn to the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar as it reaches its concluding stages after marathon games in the past six weeks.

The majority of their players exited the competition after their national teams failed to make it through the next round, with a couple of tournament favorites dropping off. Brazil and England who had three United players each were both knocked out in the quarterfinals.

Currently, the club only has two players who made it to the final with their national teams after fighting their way through to the last round of the competition. Erik Ten Hag had previously predicted that one of his team players could make it all the way and lift the trophy.

WHICH UNITED STAR WILL ACHIEVE FOOTBALL IMMORTALITY?

Erik Ten Hag's preferred center-back pair of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez both made it to the finals of the World Cup with France and Argentina respectively. Raphael was a doubt for the tournament but made it through and could be set to win his second World Cup. If Varane's France wins the competition it means he would have two World Cups and four Champions League trophies.
