Manchester United fans were in utter disbelief when the final whistle of Portugal vs Morocco game was blown yesterday as silence overwhelmed everyone. Club legend Cristiano Ronaldo fell to his knees helplessly as the harsh reality set in for him and the supporters of his national team.

The now-former Manchester United star player had his entire focus on the World Cup, intending to add it to his very rich cabinet of trophies that are only missing the World Cup title and put all his club future talk on hold.

Ronaldo started the season with Manchester United but had his contract mutually terminated by the club following a scandalous interview that put United's unwanted media attention to the progress of the club under their new manager. 

The Portuguese star captain Portugal on their world Cup opening as they beat Ghana 3-2 to get all three points and followed it up with a 2-0 against Uruguay in game two to book their slot in the knockout stages of the competition.

Portugal then eased past Switzerland 6-1 in the round-of-16 games but lost against Morocco in the quarter-finals, which sealed their exit. Ronaldo and his colleague were heartbroken that their ambition in  Qatar has ended. According to the latest reports, Ronaldo has finally spoken for the first time since the loss saying that he remains fully dedicated to Portugal despite the false narratives being pushed and would never turn his back on his country.
