Despite the fact that De Gea is close to sign a contract extension with Manchester United he knows that the team is looking for a player that can compete for that starting position with him, and an options might come from Brentford.
David Raya is the current keeper for Brentford, and his name is an option for Manchester United to reinforce the team keeper, and his team has already put on the value for the spanish goal keeper and it seems to be a little bit shocking, the team is asking an amount of 40 million euros for the 27 year old keeper, and Manchester United are considering the option.
The keeper from Brentford has raised the interest because he is a player that Erik ten Hag considers that he might be ideal to create the competition in the team, and on top of that he also likes a lot the way that he plays with his feets to start the attack for his team, so ten Hag would really like to have him as an option.
The numbers that David Raya have put on this season is that in 35 games in the Premier League he has allowed a total of 45 goals, but he has also been able to keep a clean sheet in 10 of those games, so it is a player that in a team like Brentford has been able to shown what he is capable of doing.
David de Gea knows that the competition for the goal of Manchester United is going to be really close no matter what player they end up bringing, the main goal for the team seems to be to reduce errors to the minimium and they are willing to consider a lot of options to make sure that the player that arrives can become the keeper for the next season and for a long time to come.
