United's transfer target has hinted at a move to Old Trafford in the next window as Ten Hag plans.

Manchester United have been improving their quality across the pitch in recent seasons as they transition into a new phase. The summer addition to the team has helped Ten Hag further settle in as the head is their exciting project.

Although the team's defense has improved astronomically this season compared to the past season, the position up front has remained an area of concern for the Red Devils to further improve the side. The signing of Antony Santos was their only attack acquisition in the summer.

Nonetheless, they have always been on the lookout to do a few deals to bring in more firepower to their side as they maintain interest in several prospects. The club captain of Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, Cody Gakpo sits at the top of that list and Ronaldo's recent exit makes him the top favorite to be signed in January.

The 23-year-old Dutch international has been in great form since the start of the season, leading his current club to the top end of the Eredivisie table. He was a late interest for the Red Devils in the summer but a bid was never tabled for him as United prioritized other positions.

WHAT DID GAKPO SAY ABOUT UNITED LINKS?

Cody Gakpo, who is currently at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar is rumored to be very much keen on the move to Old Trafford and also hinted that he could be open to a January move should an offer come in. He essentially said anything is possible in football amidst the growing links to United but reiterated that he is currently solely focused on the Dutch team's World Cup exploits at the moment.
