As news of Cristiano Ronaldo's mutual exit from Manchester United induces shock waves and reactions around the world, a few clubs are celebrating the situation. The news of Ronaldo's exit hit the media earlier today when United release a statement on its website.

Ronaldo, who was United's top scorer last season with 24 goals has been subjected to a peripheral this season under new manager Erik Ten Hag who has a preference for much younger players to bring out his style of play as opposed to the Portuguese.

His exit from Old Trafford signal the green light to a team in London, who have been circling United for the opportunity to sign the legendary striker as a part of their new ownership vision. Chelsea was reported interested in doing a deal for him in the summer but eventually didn't approach.

Chelsea's new owner is reported still be very much interested in doing a deal for the 37-year-old striker and will see his free agency as an opportunity to go ahead with discussion with Ronaldo's camp. Ronaldo was rumored to be okay with a switch to London last summer.

WILL CHELSEA GO FOR THEIR MAN NOW?

With Ronaldo now available on the free agent market, Chelsea will be expected to take the initiative to start talks with and use their Champions League involvement as a bargaining chip. Ronaldo has always been a Champions League regular until last season when United failed to qualify for the competition once sparking rumors of his possible exit.
