The next stage of Manchester United’s rebuild is likely to the include the signing of a goalkeeper, if United’s budget allows it with finances within the squad being a bit tight regarding the amount of money that they will be able to spend on signings in the upcoming summer transfer window.

David de Gea has impressed Ten Hag this season, but he believes having a goalkeeper more comfortable on the ball would help his team better control games as that is exactly how the Dutch manager likes her teams to start their attack, and it starts from back to front with the goalkeeper starting everything off.

The Spaniard has just come off his 10th season with the team and has been an ever present figure in the starting eleven since making the move from Spanish side Atletico de Madrid in the summer of 2011 as a replacement for club legend Edwin Van der Sar who retired at the end of the previous season.

United are set to hold meetings with Dean Henderson's representatives this month before making a decision on his future, At the moment the United second choice keeper finds himself recovering from a lengthy injury while out on loan at newly promoted Nottingham Forest and is expected to return to club training very soon.

What is United’s best option?

Given what David De Gea has done at the club since coming in as the replacement for a Champions League winning keeper and has not disappointed ever since. Taking this into careful consideration United can not afford to lose a piler of the club in this sort of manner that would leave the squad with no money coming in for him.
