Manchester United were searching for their perfect striker all season, although the club decided to go for other signings first, there was always that interest in bringing in a player who could keep Marcus Rashford company and solve the goalscoring problem that the team suffered from last season.

The first choice for Erik Ten Hag was Harry Kane, as already mentioned, the manager has repeatedly shown his admiration for the English striker, so when there was the opportunity to have talks with Spurs for his transfer, the Red Devils did not hesitate to make their attempt, however, not only the value of the striker was high, but also his salary, so it became practically impossible to sign him.

After the club realised that they could not have Kane, they went for a cheaper option but it seemed to be the right one, Rasmus Hojlund, was in the sights of Ten Hag for a few weeks, rumours began to emerge about the approach they had towards the player, but still without showing an official offer; until finally during the last week the board would close the transfer for a total of 72 million approximately.

Although he has not yet been officially presented, opinions have begun to emerge about his signing, so many believe that the long-term signing of Hojlund will be the right choice for the club, so we would have to wait for time to tell us if Ten Hag did the right thing or the Dane will be another failed signing to the list.

Hojlund better than Kane

The transfer of Rasmus Hojlund is practically a done deal, he is now in Carrington undergoing medical tests, to be officially unveiled in the next few hours; One of the reasons that makes his signing better is undoubtedly the price, because while the Dane will receive 6 million a year as salary, Kane has a salary of 30 million, besides that another factor is the age, because Hojlund is only 20 years old, while the Englishman is older by ten years, so the potential that can reach the Danish striker is greater, so everything looks for Ten Hag has made the right decision.
