It was roars of joy all across Manchester United's fanbase after witnessing the exemplary form of their favorite player, just like how their season has taken a turn to a fruitful ending following Ten Hag's resilience in implementing his football culture all over the squad. The great turnaround was lastly marked by a 2-1 win at Craven Cottage against Fulham before the league was halted.

Now former player Cristiano Ronaldo was called up alongside Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot to help Portugal with their exploit at the Mundial. Ronaldo has been the talk of the media for weeks as he conducted an explosive interview that saw his contract with Manchester United mutually terminated. Official statements were both issued by the club and himself as they brought his second stint at United to an early close.

Bruno on his part was faced with several speculations about his dip in form that saw him neither score nor create chances for weeks until he returned from a mandatory suspension after picking up 5 yellow cards. He rose to form after that situation and has continued that trend in Qatar with his national team.

Portugal opened their encounter with a 3-2 win over the Black Stars of Ghana, where Ronaldo was the opener from the spot and Bruno provided two assists for the final two goals for the Portuguese. The former Manchester United man received the MOTM award in game one but things were a bit tricky in game two, as Bruno took the entire limelight with well deserved MOTM  award for his brace that sent Portugal through. But there's a bit of a funny controversy in the game.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED THAT MADE UNITED FANS UNHAPPY?

Portugal's opening goal in the game against Uruguay has divided opinions around the world after being ruled out as Ronaldo's goal following his attempt to nod the ball but was instead given to Bruno Fernandes. In light of these,  the Portuguese football federation is reportedly going to present FIFA with evidence to prove that the first goal against Uruguay was Cristiano Ronaldo's and not Bruno Fernandes which has upset United fans. Despite the issue, both players are said to be focused on the fact that Portugal won the game and not on who scored.
