Manchester United had 14 first-team player make the call-up squad for several national teams competing at the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The call-ups created a lot of excitement for everyone at the club as they looked forward to the prospect of watching their players compete for football's holy grail. 

Three United players made it to the England national team for the World Cup, which saw Jadon Sancho miss a spot on the team for his form and injury at the time. Club captain Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford, and Luke Shaw made the talent-rich England team that includes Bukayo Saka, Harry Kane, and even Jude Bellingham.

The duo Maguire and Luke Shaw made their debut in the 6-2 mauling of Iran from the very first minutes f the game. They were in terrific form on the day as they both provided assists for England's first two goals on the day before Marcus Rashford came as a second-half substitute.

Rashford was quick to make his impact in the game by grabbing England's fifth on the night. His goal on his World Cup debut this year adds to his tally of goal contributions this season. Rashford has been the brightest light in Ten Hag's new United team this season.

WHAT SHOULD UNITED FANS EXPECT FROM THE TODAY?

Harry Maguire will be backed to lead the backline once again after his outstanding display in game one. Maguire has always been a regular starter for Gareth Southgate's side and his trust in the 29-year-old has always been repaid with top performances. Luke Shaw will also be starting with Marcus Rashford expected to come on as a substitute in the game.
