The consequence of his action has begun to unfold as United fights back against their star player.

It has been full-on chaos inside Manchester United following the recent controversy that they've been engulfed in as a result of Cristiano Ronaldo's recent media interview. The interview story started to unfold on Sunday evening shortly after United grabbed a late win against Fulham in the EPL.

The interview was teased on social media by Piers Morgan who was the host and interviewer of the tv show. The teasers immediately after release generated a lot of controversy and talking points in the football world, as pundits and fans alike took sides to the unfolding event.

The two-part interview which cut across 90 minutes, saw Ronaldo give answers and clarity from his point of view on his actions at the club as well as the actions of United. The Portuguese hit out hard at United for being stagnant with innovation against other top clubs in the world as well as questioned the club owners' commitment to the club.

Shortly after the initial teaser, United released a statement that they'll be waiting to see the entire interview before they take and appropriate actions against their star player, who 24 times across all competition last season for the Red Devils as they missed out on a Champions League spot.

WHAT DID UNITED DO AFTER THE INTERVIEW?

Earlier today Manchester United released an official statement via their website stating that they will be taking appropriate steps in response to his recent interview and will also not be providing any further comments on the matter until the entire process is concluded. While United takes this action, Ronaldo has also taken action as he jets off with his Portuguese teammate to Qatar ahead of the World Cup.
