With 14 stars called up for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Manchester United became the second team with the highest number of World Cup attendees in their squad behind local rivals Manchester City who edged them off the list.
Club football across Europe was put on hold throughout the World Cup in the Middle East as they took a six-week break to prepare for the Marathon second half of the season when club action start again in late December.

The round of 16 games has all been completed and the quarterfinal fixtures are set already, with a large number of United players making it through. United star, Luke Shaw recently shared his thought on England's chances against France saying that they will need to impose themselves in the game early on and break down the French with their world-class talents. Varane will be gearing up to face his United teammates in the game.
