After what has been a nervous week at Old Trafford following Manchester United's 3-1 loss at Villa park, there was a call for celebration today as their England call-up announcement was made by the men's national team coach Gareth Southgate earlier this afternoon.

Manchester United have enjoyed a run of great form that lead to many calling for their stars to make England's final list for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. The likes of Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw have been in tremendous form for the Red Devils, who sit fifth on the EPL table.

Club continues to be fined, refereeing persecution against the team

Gareth has now officially announced the names of his 26-man squad for the tournament that includes United stars Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, and club captain Harry Maguire, who are all joined by stars from other Premier League teams like Arsenal's Bukayo Saka and in form James Maddison of Leicester City.

The biggest miss for United on the list is Jadon Sancho, who has had a poor season so far under Ten Hag. Fans believe that his goals and assist contributions which are 4 from 14 appearances in the Premier League wouldn't have been convincing enough for him to earn a spot in the team. But his recent injury as well further added to his missing out.

WHAT NEXT FOR THESE UNITED STARS?

The call-up is surely a delight for the United stars as they'll relish the opportunity to have a go at the World Cup trophy after their recent Euros loss to Italy. With just two games left to play before the World Cup starts, Ten Hag will have to be very careful with his team selection and game minutes for some players in his final two games before the season halts.
