Manchester United have been on the rise with their gradual improvement under new manager Erik Ten Hag as they enter a new managerial era. The dutchman is best known for his phenomenal work at Ajax, where he built a dominant team full of exciting talents to challenge for top honors.

His Ajax team was not only known for their quality but all their free-scoring consistently broke goal records during his tenure in the Eredivisie. With Manchester, United things have been rusty and he is ready to force a January bid for one of Europe's top talents, Cody Gakpo of PSV Eindhoven.

The PSV captain has been in terrific form this season for the club and now country after scoring the Netherlands' opening goal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The highly rated dutchman has a combined 33 goals and assists contribution from all competition this season and was a United late interest last summer.

PSV are reportedly willing to do a deal of around 50 million euros for their club captain should any of the top team be interested to send a bid in. United's lack of goals and chances creation this season leaves them with a zero goal difference on the EPL table, which has been a huge problem for Ten Hag.

ARE UNITED READY TO BID FOR GAKPO?

According to the reports, United fans are desperate for the club to sign him as soon as the January transfer window to avoid a bidding war for him in the summer. His ridiculous returns this season make him a perfect solution to Ten Hag's attacking problem. With Ronaldo's exit almost certain United will need to bring Gakpo in to lift off some of the attacking burdens on Marcus Rashford this season.
