Wout Weghorst arrives on loan January 2023

The lack of goals at Manchester United has been one of the biggest problems in recent years, because although big names have arrived at Old Trafford, they have not been able to find their best level wearing the shirt of the biggest team in England. Perhaps Cristiano Ronaldo in his comeback season at our club was the last good performance of a striker, but with his departure mid-season the team had to turn to Wout Weghorst, who arrived on loan in January 2023.

Weghorst came to the Red Devils to try to solve the team's attacking problems, but he was never able to gain Erik ten Hag's trust and was relegated to a diminutive role scoring only 2 goals. The 30-year-old Dutch striker will return to Burnley for next season, so the Red Devils are already thinking about who could fill the striker's position in ten Hag's scheme.

Erik ten Hag's priority is Harry Kane, as he is a proven striker who scored 30 goals in the last Premier League campaign, however Spurs would not be willing to let him leave for less than 100 million euros, and given the budgetary uncertainty that the Old Trafford board is going through, it could be an unattainable sum.

However, Erik ten Hag has a plan B and it is an attacker who has not only proven his ability to score in one of the top leagues in Europe, but has also attracted the interest of big teams and whose value is considerably lower than that of Kane: Rasmus Hojlund.

Hojlund's numbers in Serie A

Rasmus Hojlund is the great jewel of Danish football, because at 20 years of age, he is valued at 35 million euros according to the Transfermarkt portal. Hojlund currently plays for Serie A side Atalanta and scored 10 goals last season.
