One of the biggest dilemmas facing Manchester United in the upcoming transfer market is the permanence of David de Gea, as the 32-year-old Spanish goalkeeper's contract expires at the end of this month and, despite the Red Devils' board offered him a renewal, he has not yet decided if he wants to continue at Old Trafford.
David de Gea has been, without a doubt, one of the best goalkeepers in the history of our club. His quality is undeniable and his great performances have led him to be in the sights of the biggest teams in Europe, however he has decided to give us the best years of his career. However, this summer he could make a different decision, as he will be a free agent at the beginning of July.
David de Gea's decision has raised mixed opinions, because on the one hand there is a sector of the fans who want to continue seeing him defend Manchester United's goal. On the other hand, there are also those who are calling for a change of goalkeeper due to the serious mistakes the Spaniard has made in the recent past, including the FA Cup final match against Manchester City.
There are even Manchester United legends who have taken a stand on David de Gea's future with the Red Devils. The most recent to do so was former striker Roy Keane, who has already issued his verdict on whether or not the Spanish goalkeeper should stay at Old Trafford.
The former Red Devils captain, Roy Keane, closed the door to a possible renewal of David de Gea with Manchester United, as he considers that our team "needs a world-class goalkeeper and he is not". De Gea ended up winning the golden glove this season in the Premier League.
