Though the win at Old Trafford last night was significant to what could be a defining season for Manchester United, the implications defer for some Man United players. Especially those who weren't part of the phenomenal night at Old Trafford on Thursday.

A resilient Manchester United fought back to win for the second game in a row as they beat their latest rival, Barcelona at Old Trafford 2-1 on the night. It was a huge moment for the Red Devils fans and sadly their star midfielder Christian Eriksen played no part in it.

The Danish midfielder picked up a nasty injured back in January and has been ruled out till May for his recovery. It was a devastating moment for both the player and Manchester United as he was playing a crucial part in the ongoing season with a solid partnership with Casemiro.

With Eriksen out United brought in Marcel Sabitzer as extra cover but Fred was given his starting position and the Brazilian midfielder had gradually staked a claim for it. Fred has so far won a few MOTM awards for his performance with the latest coming in United's biggest game of the season against Barcelona at Old Trafford.

What did Ten Hag say about Fred?

The Brazilian midfielder had his name sung by the home crowd following his impressive performance in the game. Erik Ten Hag even enthusiastically while praising Fred for ruthlessly performing his task of disrupting Frenkie De Jong in the game. Fred spoke after the game saying it was a good game and he's looking forward to the weekend final against Newcastle United.
