The team is looking to get rid of Anthony Martial, and it seems that they could get rid of his 14 million euros salary per year to a better use, and there are sources inside Manchester United that believe that the answer could be the Balon d'Or winner, Karim Benzema, despite the fact that he is already a 35 year old player.

Karim Benzema could be looking to arrive to a new team, and he could arrive to Manchester United, the fact is that the french striker is set to leave Real Madrid this season, his contract is finishing this season and he knows that he is not getting his contract renewed for the following season, and that conditions could make him the ideal reinforcement.

It is a fact that Benzema is at the end of his career, and he might be looking to reitre really soon, but the fact is that he has shown that he still has some talent left in him and if he arrives for free to the team it could be a great idea to have an experienced player in the squad that know what it takes to win the Champions League trophy.

He currently has a salary of 8 million euros, but he could be looking to take a pay decrease in case that he arrives to any other club, so the idea of getting an experienced player that knows how to win the Champions League competiton and could still perform at the highest level for less than 8 million euros per year could be a way better option than having Martial in the team.
