He feels like Antony has turned a corner at Manchester United. The key now is to make sure he doesn't end up spinning around in one of his signature stunts. The Brazilian forward was the standout man for his side in the weekend's win over Nottingham Forest, turning in one of his most complete performances yet with a goal and an assist to his name.

However, it was still not a full performance. Antony struggled in the early stages of the match but grew and gained confidence every time he had the ball. The 23-year-old displayed great predatory instincts as he dived over a loose ball to score the first goal of the game and displayed superb dexterity and composure to feed Diogo Dalot for the second.

There's still plenty of room for improvement, but this was proof of his undeniable star quality and his ability to win games on his own. We need more scorers and I'm happy with Antony. He scored a goal, provided an assist, glowed Ten Hag after the weekend's win.

His start in the game was not so good. I think he twice had to make another decision to get the ball to Christian Eriksen on cutback. But after he entered the game and was continuously a threat to the opponent, he's definitely making progress. The next step required is for him to find the consistency that will determine whether or not he is an elite striker, rather than a mercurial talent that only shows his elite talent in flashes.

Antony vs. Forest

His goal against Nottingham Forest was his first in 15 league appearances; he had attempted 38 unmarked shots in the league before finally finding the back of the net. What was so impressive about his last goal was the very simple nature of him. Antony has earned a reputation for hitting spectacular shots from long range, usually after adjusting his sights with fractious efforts beforehand, but this was a run-of-the-mill striker finisher, a guy he needs more of in his game. The encouraging thing for United is that he is showing exactly what they want from him; he just needs time to refine his game and improve his decision making.
