The start of the 23/24 season is getting closer and closer, the players are still on holiday and within Manchester United there are many things that are being rumoured at the moment and the club, unable to resolve any of them, would have made the fans desperate as the situation at the Red Devils is unclear.
June was by no means one of United's best months and, although the month of July was able to turn the situation around a little more by providing the fans with two big signings, doubts remain as to whether Erik Ten Hag will be able to bring in more reinforcements before the first Premiership game begins.
United have been slow to make signings, Mason Mount, André Onana are the only signings the club has made, in addition to that they have not been able to have major sales of players that would allow them to increase the budget, thus making it more complicated for them to negotiate with teams that considerably increase the value of their players.
The most obvious case is in the attacking position, the club has been trying for two months to define who will accompany Marcus Rashford and although the coach has repeated countless times that it is a position that must be strengthened as soon as possible, no obvious step has been made to make a clear decision; Names such as Rasmus Hojlund, Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen have been floated and none have been finalised, so if during the remaining games of pre-season they fail to sign at least one, the club could be missing out on a very valuable opportunity to win the Premier League title.
The pre-season has already started, we have played three games and the club has looked pretty good, however, reinforcements are still needed in certain areas of the field, even so there are still games to come against, Wrexham - July 22; Real Madrid - July 27; Borussia Dortmund - July 31; and finally, Athletic Bilbao - August 6. So, Ten Hag can have time to further strengthen the team.
