Following the defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion on his first match in charge as Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has analyzed the game and shared his conclusions on what may have gone wrong that caused his team to lose.
Talking to BBC Sport, he admitted that being Manchester United manager is not easy: “It is a hell of a job. We have to work really hard, analyze then move forward”. He also shared his disappointment: “Of course definitely a setback and real disappointment. I knew from the start it would not be easy. We gave two easy balls away and it was not good in the organization”.

The Dutchman respects Brighton but believes his team should have done much better: “Brighton are a decent team, all the compliments. But I look at my team and we should not give two easy goals away. I saw a team who stuck together and batted. At least we reacted chances and the first chance of the game with Bruno Fernandes”.
Right after the final whistle, Manchester United should move on and start preparing for next week’s match against Brentford. Also, the club’s board should be closing signings for Erik ten Hag as soon as possible, as they have not brought enough players in to back the manager.
