Many United fans were expecting a great start to their Sunday afternoon game at Villa Park following a run of nine games unbeaten, seven wins, and two draws across all competitions. But they've been left bemused at the crazy start to the game in the opening fifteen minutes as their captain for today's game Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Red Devils saw a much-changed United lineup in recent weeks, with a clear intent by Ten Hag to give the more informed players more chances, with Ronaldo leading the line and captaining on the afternoon. But two quick salvos from Aston Villa in the opening minutes left the Portuguese start in a very upsetting state as the side cheaply gave away goals.

Ronaldo's facial reaction to the second goal by Lucas Digne, as the star player shaked his head in disbelief at the situation as United couldn't resist a second attack from their opponent. Erik Ten Hag was also seen screaming from his seat after they conceded the second, just eleven minutes into the game.

The early goals by Leon Bailey and Lucas Digne, leave United with more than a mountain to climb if they are to salvage any points in today's game. They had previously set their sight on climbing up to fourth place if they won and the result elsewhere go in their favor.

CAN UNITED FIGHT BACK IN THIS GAME?

Although Villa is ahead at the moment, they have been in a very poor run of form with just one win from their last five games. Ronaldo will be hoping to inspire the team to a comeback, despite how challenging it will be. He will also be hoping his teammates don't lose concentration as they fight back into the game.
