Erik ten Hag praises Manchester United youngster for mentality

Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has praised a player in the Manchester United youth team who has been making waves in the academy and has also impressed when he has been given the chance to train with the United first-team and gone toe to toe with the best players at the club.

“He is the example of deserving his position by performance on the training ground. I said the other day, I did not select him for Liverpool and it was not even totally justified because he was training that well.” said Ten Hag.

“This was his moment to come on [vs Betis] because of a longer period he performed in training. What impressed me was he came on and, straight [away], showed himself.” he added and has hinted that if he keeps this up he will continue to be given the chance to impress at the club during training. 

It will be interesting to see if he dose keep getting a chance to play with United after a really impressive loan in spain with Deportivo Alaves where he impressed to  the point that they wanted to make his move permanent from the english club.

Should he get more game time?

Pellistri has been showing what he has got to offer to the team when he is given the chance to have some minutes in the first team, and given how much he has impressed in that time it is fair to say that he deserves to keep proving that he is of the standard to play at a big club like Manchester United.
