Erik ten Hag ambition is to make a team that would be able to compete not only for the Premier League but for the Champions League as well, and in order to do that he has to make some changes to the squad.

One of the first candidates to leave the club is the striker Wout Weghorst, the 30 year old striker is not going to get his loan at Manchester United extended and he is one of the first players to be setted to leave the club at the end of the season.

He came in as an option to make goals for the red devils, a player that has shown his love for the club but his performances on the squad simply where not there and that might be the main cause for him to leave the club in the summer.

In his time at Manchester United he played a total of 13 games with the club, where he was only capable of giving 1 assist, those numbers are definitely lower that what Manchester United needs from their strikers and that is why he is leaving the club.

What Weghorst is leaving at United

He only has a salary of 3.5 million euros per year so even though that is going to add up to the current financial situation of the club it is not going to be enough for an elite striker to come to the club, so this may be the first player to leave the club to start making room for the objectives of the transfer window.
