Manchester United had 14 players make the start of the tournament with 11 of them making it through the group stage to the knockout rounds of the Mundial.  The round-of-16 games and quarterfinals games saw a lot of them get knocked out.

The in-form Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Harry Maguire who were topping the list for United players' performance at the World all exited the competition in the quarterfinals, leaving only two United players who made it to the final.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup finalists are France and Argentina who will be battling it out to be crowned World Champions. The two pillars of Ten Hag's defense, Raphael Varane, and Lisandro Martinez will be facing each other. This will be Martinez's first World Cup final while Raphael Varane will be appearing in his second World Cup final. The Frenchman reported spoke about the milestone saying that it is such an incredible moment and it is extra emotional because this is his second time.
