Many were not happy to see Cristiano Ronaldo go in December last year following his scandalous media interview but have had to accept it and move with the club. But things haven't gone as planned for the Portuguese International and has become the laughingstock of fans.

Not many would have thought there would be no fairytale ending to Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford after making his sensational return during the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era last season. He scored a decent number of goals to cap his return.

The signing of Erik Ten Hag marked the end of Ronaldo's return to the club as he was no longer the main player as he had hoped for. His situation with Erik Ten Hag was a huge thorn for United as they couldn't work together as the board hoped.

Ultimately, his media interview signaled his desire to move away and he got his wish by having his contract mutually terminated by the club while away on international duty with the Portuguese national team at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Why are fans laughing at Ronaldo?

Ronaldo left Manchester United in the worse possible way which caused chaos within and around the club. He joined up with Al Nassr FC in Saudi Arabia after signing a multimillion deal but has yet to play any official game since club football returned in December and has become a laughing topic amongst fans. Manchester United on the other hand are doing great without him, notching up 6 wins in a row.
