Manchester United broke the Premier League record shirt sales when they announced the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo last season from Juventus for a second spell at the club that set him on his path to global stardom and illustrious heights.
The Portuguese international was received by a sold-out crowd at Old Trafford on his return debut and was being watched by millions across the world as he donned the famous Red and Black jersey of the icon Red Devils once more.

The season was great for Ronaldo with 24 goals across all competitions even though his efforts weren't enough to help United salvage their season with a top-four finish. He ended the season with a football director as his interim manager.
But things turned sour this season, as new manager Erik Ten Hag was convinced that Ronaldo should be part of his team, which led to their fallout, and Ronaldo's eventual fallout with the club that saw his contract mutually terminated within five months into the new campaign.
With Ronaldo's exit from United, a mega bid has been tabled for the Portuguese star but the offer is away from Europe and could see him move to the Middle East for the remainder of his footballing career. The Portuguese captain is reported tempted by the astronomically bid but is yet to make his decision.
