Manchester United's current success might seem like a surprise to many but it is the result of the meticulous planning of new manager Erik Ten Hag to get them back to the top. The initial groundwork started in the summer.
Shortly after United Ten Hag as the new manager, there was a lot of immediate action to begin the preparation for this campaign. United ensured that they cleared out all players that were deemed instant surplus to requirement.

They followed it up by identifying the areas in their team that were their weakness and quickly went after the transfer targets that would become pillars of the new team under Ten Hag. They brought in Lisandro Martinez to shun up the left half of their defense while providing diagonal attacking paces.
Their midfield was lacking a bully and they went to coup up their signing of the summer, Casemiro from Real Madrid after he expressed interest in a new adventure. The other summer addition like Christian Eriksen and Antony Santos amongst others were majorly to provide more options to Ten Hag.
According to a recent report, Ten Hag revealed that their first target was to put themselves in a position where they can win something, which has been successful so far. He went on to add that you don't win titles in December or January and they are now primed to amplify grinding out those right positions to a win in April, as it is what they are working for.
