Last week the draw for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League was held, where Manchester United could be present because during last season the club was able to finish in third place in the overall table, which gives them a direct pass to this instance of the most important tournament at club level.

The Red Devils were drawn in Group A, which is made up of Bayern Munich as group winners after winning the German league, Galatasaray and FC Copenhagen. It will undoubtedly be a complicated group, as Ten Hag's men will have to open the tournament against the Bavarian club on 20 September as visitors at the Allianz Arena, so it will be a tough first test.

Even so, the fans are hoping that United can get a good result in every game, which will allow them to advance to the finals to fight for the title they have not been able to win since the 2008 season when Sir Alex Ferguson was still manager of the team; for that reason now Ten Hag has chosen 25 players to be part of the squad to face this first phase with the aim of making the best possible performance.

However, one of the players who was not taken into account by the coach has been Donny Van de Beek, because as we remember before the transfer window closed he was one of the targets to sell, since the club was reinforced in the position that the Dutchman plays, so he has been informed that he will not receive many minutes of play.

Van de Beek's situation

The Dutch midfielder is clearly not in Ten Hag's future plans, as we have seen at the beginning of the season the player has not received much opportunity either in the Premier League or now for the group stage of the Champions League, so the club plans to seek an agreement to sell Donny Van de Beek to clubs in Saudi Arabia and Turkey, where the transfer window has not yet closed, so we will see in the coming days further updates on his case.
